An excellent collection that has broadened my view of writing especially "in character." Many of Tennessee Williams' characters speak in unique voices that even look different from one another on the page.
USA Trilogy: 42nd Parallel, 1919, The Big Money
This is an excellent trilogy on the day to day life of Americans in the early part of the 20th century. Dos Passos is one of the most impressive writers I have ever read as he is able to speak in the voice of many different people in honest and interesting ways.
Cult Movies
Cult Movies is just a fun book that discusses many different films that people obsessively talk about, quote and watch over and over.
