V/H/S is an engaging piece. In short, the smashing together of various storylines creates an interesting multi-layered narrative that is both exciting and ultimately full of mystery. We do not quite know the story of the gang of young men who assault a woman in a parking lot nor do we know why this particular group stumbled on the VHS tapes that show these gruesome and chilling scenes but this is where the charm of the scare lies, it never overstays its welcome. Everything in VHS looks and feels realistic, this is an incredible feat in itself and that is enough to celebrate the film...do not get me started on the story "Amateur Night" which is truly the stuff of every man's nightmares.
