Loud, violent, gritty and disturbing this is my first ROB ZOMBIE film (it was recommended) and I generally enjoyed the energy of it more than anything else - the film moves and moves and moves. It reminds me of The Last House on the Left and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. The film really pushes the kidnapping "crazy family" scenario to its action/horror maximum and it generally works - the ending scene is a fitting climax to the entire bloody affair.
