OZARK SEASONS 1 and 2 are simply excellent thriller storytelling. In watching Ozark, especially the episode one pilot, you have absolutely no idea what to expect and the characters reveal themselves in layers. It is true that some of the best writing for series allows this kind of time for characters to grow and define while still developing intricate plot points for the viewer to enjoy.
Watching Ozark is like watching a strategic game of chess being played by smart and daring players...each move is calculated and you always feel that victory and defeat are just one move away. Each episode notably starts with an undefined set of drawings (or symbols) which is later shown and identified as part of the story. In much the same way all the pieces of the story are in front of us...but the thrilling part of it is seeing how it all fits.
