Nightbreed is an exciting and interesting turn for Clive Barker! To me Nightbreed feels like a bigger step beyond the Hellraiser series as a horror fantasy picture. Outside of the incredible imagination of Clive Barker onscreen, the film is successful because of the charming performance of protagonist Craig Sheffer and just as importantly...the terrifying and pitch-perfect performance of writer/director/actor David Cronenberg. The story of Nightbreed is fun and interesting littered with engaging side characters and brutal violence. I am interested in learning more about the world of this film.
