The first thing you notice when reading a Coen Brothers screenplay is the information on the shots and how it will ultimately be filmed! This is very unique because it is an understood rule that writers should not write into scripts how it is to be filmed (they had no power over that at all back in the day and even today) but we have writer/directors here and it is great to see those rules broken in pursuit of a better screenplay!
There is no doubt after reading the scripts here including BLOOD SIMPLE, RASING ARIZONA, MILLER'S CROSSING and BARTON FINK that you have an immediate sense of tone, style and story. The dialogue, as expected, brings the character to life instantly - each one of them has their own approach and style to life and conversation.
