BEYOND THUNDERDOME is a great ride...would you believe this is my first time seeing this film?  Funny enough, I saw Mad Max: Fury Road first which I consider one of the greatest and most stunning action films ever made.  This film has the original heart of the Mad Max franchise and it is fun in the way that a Star Wars or Indiana Jones film is.  Mel Gibson is excellent in the film portraying both a sensitive and charismatic man with a believable action hero strength ready to go beyond the thunderdome.  The casting of Tina Turner was a great choice because it apparently helped fill the seats - the budget in 1985 was 12 million USD and it tripled that figure at the box office.
